I have made proofs for most of the 4x5 negatives I have and I did not have to burn in specific areas of the image. However, I was contact printing with a Saunders 670cxl condenser enlarger and was not enlarging the image. When scanning with the Epson 3200 scanner and the Silverfast scanner software, I am enlarging the image to over 200% to produce an 8x10 image. I am not sure if enlarging should cause lost of highlight/shadow density in the image??

Also, I am adjusting the gamma on the image during the prescan of the negative w/ the Silverfast software to darken the overall image. Should I be calibrating my scanner in addition to my monitor to match output on the printer?

Thanks
Ross
