This is a really basic question. I am just starting out in sensitometry and I have a transmisson densitometer on the way. I have been reading "Beyond Basic Photography" by Henry Horenstein. It the book he discusses the Density/exposure graph. He says that both the x-axis and the y-axis increase or decrease every unit of .30. Yet every graph I have seen the numbers read o.o 0.2,0.3 and so on the vertical side. The x-axis goes from 0.0 to -3.0. The author states that each .30 is one stop. My question is why are'nt the scales marked in units of .30 on both the vertical and horizonial legs? Sincerely Jerry |
