Contact print frame

I don't have a 4x5 enlarger, but I do have a contact print frame. Is it possible to sandwich a step wedge and film in the frame for testing purposes?

If so, any suggestions on how to expose? (I use the frame for exposing POP paper and just put it out in the sun to expose - not an option for film testing, I guess.)
