Good to hear from you again!
There's a "standard White" reference stored away in the bowels of the National Bureau of Standards but it's of interest mainly to manufacturers. For BTZS purposes (curve construction and analysis) the paper's own base (B+F) "white" is the most useful reference and we arbitrarily assign it "zero density." This allows the Plotter/Matcher to base curve analysis of all papers on a common B+F density (0.0) and avoids the unimportant comparison of the relative whiteness of various papers. |
