Jorge's right, a range of from 0.05 to 3.0 is fine, it merely shortens the curve lengths by 1/6th stop. In fact the step tablet numbers can vary quite a lot without doing major damage. It's not really unusual to find commercial step tablets whose step densities vary from as little as 0.03 to as much as 3.1, with step intervals that vary from as little as 0.13 to as much as 0.17. As long as you plot the individual curve densities against their corresponding step density values you'll get legitimate curves although, if the intervals are inconsistent, the curves may be lumpy. |
