I have retested the Ilford paper. Going from 2 minutes up to 3 minutes developing time has made a big difference and I am getting reasonable curves. I cannot find an error in my analysis, but I am still getting a very compacted range. Everything seems to be saying that I am printing soft. The densitometer was just picked up at auction, but I have calibrated step wedges and references so that isn't the issue. I would appreciate if some one would maybe give me the ES they come up for one of the sets of readings so I can compare them with mine. I have some OLD graded paper and I get the same 'shifted' results.
