BTZS and platinum printing
Miles  19:03 24 Feb 07
I kinda of fooled around and bidded for a NuArc UV plate maker on EBAY and with $128.00 won it (not believing for a moment that I would). I bought Dick's book on platinum/palladium printing because my wife "request" some family portraits using this technique. I have a general "sense" of how BTZS methods will help flatten the rather steep learning curve with this process. I suppose destiny is directing this new journey. Now to start accumulating the needed supplies.... I suppose a call to B&S is in order. I like TMY in pyrocat-mc in BTZS tubes for silver printing on VC paper. At first glance I am hoping that the somewhat more contrasty negatives needed from this combo to print on VC papers will approach what is needed for a good pt/pd print. I don't know if I should start with the NA2 method vs the more traditional method of contrst control. With BTZS I seem to be able to nail a given negative DR if I have an aim point. Just not sure where to go from here. Anyone who has gone down this road ... feel free to jump in about now .
