I know its been a year+ since I have done any film testing, but am I this rusty? After my first three sheet trial (TMX @ white card reflected EV 4.0 [Pentax Digital] & 1/2 sec[Copal #3]; 4-8-16 min dev [JOBO]; DDX 1+9; 80 deg F)my speed point came out to be just a little over 2.7. The curves were shifted to the left. So I ran another three sheet trial where I exposed the step table at one stop less light (TMX @ reflected EV 3.0 & 1/2/sec; 4-8-16 min dev; DDX 1+9; 80 deg F). This time the speed point came out to be just a little under 2.7...essentially no change! Incidently, I'm establishing a PRSP for all four of my films. In the first trial, all four came out about one stop high (around 2.7) and all four expeirienced the same failure to move after I reduced the amount of exposure for each film about one stop. In your article "Your Personal Reference Speed Point", 9th paragraph beginning with 'If the ISO mark falls...', you say: "...and since exposure increases from left to right...". Is this in conflict with my exposure adjustments? Doesn't it take more exposure to move the curves to the left and less exposure to move the curves to the right? Thanks |
