Well, I did matching prints with 100Tmax in DDX 1:6 and Prescysol(i don't have Pyrocat-mc yet). I made every attempt to match a specific point in the shadow area with a specific point in the highlight area. What happened is that the tones in between are a little different...sbtle but different. the overall "feel" of the prints were different but again subtle. The only word that comes to mind is that the print from the stained neg seemed to be "smoother". I liked it a bit better. I think DDX will still be my most oftened used dev because I can expaned and contract 100Tmax easier with it and there is not the substantial lossof EFS as with Prescysol. Next Project, test and compare 400tmax in DDX and pyrocat-mc when it arrives. The purpose here is to see if I can produce dual purpose negs. I am diligently researching PLt/PLd printing. Sounds like fun! The examples I have seen of Jorge's and Dick Arentz work are inspiringto say the least! |
