I have just started on my paper tests. I am using Ilford RC varible contrast paper. I am developing for two minues in Zonal Pro. I am using an older analog reflection densitometer made by MacBeth. The machine seems to work fine. It repeats consistantly and is very stable.
However, when I zero out on paper white I am only able to achieve about 1.62 maximun density. In the book (edition three) the maximum density seems around 2.0. Any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong?
