Mike: I'm not sure if this is your problem, but some years ago when I first tried tubes I discovered that the mineral fillers in the tube plastic, scratched the film as I loaded it. Plastics have a variety of chemicals including mineral fillers( such as silica, carbon, titanium oxide) along with plasticiser processing aids which aid in the tube extrusion manufacturing. I'm wondering if over the years, plasticiser was being slowly removed with developer use and you have some very small mineral particles exposed on the inner surface of the tube which is causing the problem. These can be very hard materials and may not respond to your "polishing". Ben |
