Using a flash for testing. |

Anybody thought of using a flash gun to test instead of the typical enlarger set up? For my testing I use a sensitometer, if you don't know what this is, it is a machine used for testing x ray film that has a blue and a green light where the film is exposed to the step wedge. It is fairly simple and better than the enlarger set up since you can control the exposure better and you use less film.
Thew problem is that the spectrum is not complete. There is a sensitometer that uses a flash, but they are hard to get and rarely appear on E bay, so I am thinking, why not use a flash gun? Reciprcity would not be a problem, most films can handle the exposure lenght of the small flash guns, and it certainly would be easier than having to mess with the enlarger.
