That is great to hear. Thanks for the feedback. My system is almost identical and I use Efke film [notoriously prone to scratches when wet] I had very annoying problems until I started using a slotted basket arrangement.
If you create a floating lid or keep the fixer in a sealed bottle you will find you can "replenish" about once a month and get excellent life from the gallon. I have a fixer test kit -- cannot remember the name -- but after 18 months of this system my film still clears within 30 - 45 secs and there is no precipitate in the test sample. Every now and then I filter the 4 litres of fixer to remove suicidal insects. |
