Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your response.
I have a new Heiland TRD-2 Densitometer. I have measured and plotted my Stouffer step wedge density values using the Heiland on a spreadsheet. The results are quite smooth curves. So I think I can rule out these two variables causing the 'lumps' in my results. They are not huge, and appear in the mid area of the curves, but they are certainly there. Interestingly, when I plot the same film/developer combination using the Sensitometer as a light source, the curves are pretty smooth. So I am going to re-start my tests using the Sensitometer tomorrow. With a couple of ND filters I can cover all of the current films I use without changing settings on the Sensitometer. Hopefully this will solve this issue?
I get an EI of 80 with Acros 100 in FD10 at a SBR of (near) 7. For some reason the triangle is missing in the analysis, even though I have curves from 0.39 to 0.92.
I have noticed that you can smooth the curves in Plotter. Is it reasonable to assume that the 'odd' peak or trough can be legitimately smoothed?
