I believe the TRD2 will provide better accuracy and probably cover a wider density range in both transmission and reflection modes. I'm not familiar with the design of your meter/booster combination so I can't help you on that issue.
Perhaps someone else here in the forum can offer some suggestions or voice an opinion about the TRD2.
