I was playing around with bellows extension yesterday. Usually I use the "distance" mode when there is bellows extension, but yesterday I switched to "EXT" and entered the number of millimeters that the bellows is extended to instead.
A couple of questions.
When measuring, do you measure from the back standard to the very front of the lens, or just from the back standard to the front standard?
And second: I was using a 90 mm lens. So 110 or 120 mm is extended bellows, a little. I was focusing on an object about six feet away, and the bellows was extended to about 115. But when I checked to see what the focal distance was according to expo dev, it said 1.5 feet! Why? It seems like it should say six. I noticed that this discrepancy does not occur when I am focusing on things that are really close, like eight inches away.
Is it more accurate to use the "ext" mode rather than the "DIST" mode? And how do you use "mag"? |
