thanks Phil for the very pointed synopsis. I had noticed that with a film like tmax100 in tmax developer I struggled with keeping my highlights under control while anchoring down a good shadow until I tried the incident system. I had much more success with the incident system as compared to the spot metering system. However, when it came time to print the negatives I really did not like the gradation. With my most recent field test with tmax and xtol 1+1 I noticed two things. First, I did get a bit closure to my aim points with my spot meter. Second I got a bit better results with your expo/dev data from the expo/dev library which I imported to my Palm TT than I got from my own personal data(actually the exposures were within 1/3 stop). Using my data I had approx. that much more exposed. I want to photograph in the early a.m. fog in the Florida swamps that surround my house and I haven't nailed down the incident metering in this very low contrast scenario. I do enjoy trying nonetheless!
