Phil,
thanks. being curious I measured a graycard with the spotmeter and then took an incident reading (set at ISO 100) at the card and the results are very close. Can one use both meters in a complicated situation such as: photographing a room with a brightly lit window? I would generally prefer the spotmeter in this situation especially for the highlights - whereas I may not do such a good job selecting my shadow value. My thoughts are I could measure the shadows with the incident meter and place the value on zone 2 (placed 1 zone lower than zone 3 to compensate for the typical overexposure from shadow incident readings) and measure the highlight with the spotmeter. |
