silly question but I have to ask...it shouldn't matter whether you use a condenser vs a diffusion light source if you are doing testing with contact printing of the step tablet..correct? I am still trying to track down the source of increased contrast and the light source is the only thing I changed. i did another set using Delta 100 and xtol 1:1 70degrees and itstill seems I am getting the same problem.
