Thanks Phil,
When I talk about flash, I'm thinking about using flash as a supplemental source for a general scene. So, my exposure is somewhat determined by the ambient light, whch sets the time.
I'll check the new version of Expodev that I downloaded back in November, but I thought it does not permit going into negative EV values. (I thought I had tried it, but maybe I'm remembering the older version).
