You got it, I think this is the one weakness TMX has and why so many people hate it. If there is any red or you use filters it gives weird results, it renders foliage too dark also. Kodak should have left well enough alone, but in their desire to make a film that responds to a normal situation and gives skies which "look" normal they messed up when using filters or other tonalities are present. A light 82b filter wont do a darn thing, you need to use a darker blue, but then you will blow out your skies. For the longest time I could not figure out why when I used an orange or red filter the skies were not as dark as I thought they should be. Once I looked at the spectral response it dawned on me. IMO there is not much you can do with this, you just have to live with it or hate it as many do.. |
