That is why I number mine.
Maybe on a scale of 1 to thick we are very similar 
It is currently summer here and just yesterday the temperature was well in excess of 40c. Water into the darkroom was actually 43c for quite a while as the pipes are exposed to the sun. The waterbath remains quite constant for me over the development cycle -- with a shot of ice at the initial stage.
As another tip -- I freeze 1.25 litre plastic drink bottles with a very strong salt solution and they reduce the bath temperature very effectively.
When filling the bottle allow for expansion as the water/salt freezes. I have been using the same bottles for at least 10 years now.
