Steve, I did not say it is not compatible. What I tried to convey is that you will have less opportunities for errors if you use one or the other.
The Expodev does have an option for using either the BTZS or the ZS, if you want to do only spot metering then I strongly suggest you get the palm and the Expodev, it will save you a lot of grief in the field.
