Now a quick question. I have Schneider 58,90,150,and 210mm lenses, all of modern apo or XL design ( a present from my late wife ). I am thinking of adding something in the 300mm to 350mm range. I know from past experience that I rarely used my longer focal length Leica lenses ( except the R series zooms when taking photos of the grandkids ). Thus, I think I would not be interested in the Fujinon 450 ( at least for now ) Suggestions? The Fujinon 300 C ( and the Nikon M series ) seems to be about right from a size and price stand point, but there are alternatives from Schneider and Rodenstock. Is the additional money, and the added weight, worth the trouble? Currently I don't envision going larger then 11x14, and will most often stay in the 8x10 enlargment format. I'm using the Canham metal 4x5. I don't intend to hike long distances.
Thanks in advance. Perhaps someone might have a suitable lens that they are thinking of selling?
