Hello Phil -
Many years ago when we all communicated by Compuserve Russ Regenery and I spent some time with you at your Clemson seminars and at your home. I still use the understanding you gave me then. We both still carry our radio shack PCs with your programs working well. The 15 minute 4x5 Tri X exposure that PC allowed me to take in the stairwell of a lighthouse is still my best photo.
I have moved from landscape photography into portraits in the hope I can retire from being an Internet lawyer during the next 10 years and become an itenerate portrait photographer for the rich or famous. Russ is still at CDC and now he is keeping us safe from bio-terrorism! I would love to email you a photograph I took recently of Russ wading into a deep river with his 5x7 camera to reach the island that would be the best place from which to photograph.
Russ and I were talking recently about you and how much fun we had as your students. We decided we should talk with you more often than every 10 years.
Russ is sad that I have gotten heavily into digital. But what can I say... I own a Kodak 645C digital back that I am using on a Contax 645 and it is capable of some great stuff.
Have you done any thinking of applications of BTZS to obtain a better understanding and control of the "digital workflow"? Although potentially distastful to Russ I think your abilities and teaching are needed greatly in the digital medium.
My email is lstreet@mac.com - yes I am still a Mac guy! (Looks like the Plotter has evolved from the Mac? Say it ain't so.) I would like to correspond about such topics if you are interested either on this forum or by email.
best regards, Larry Street Atlanta |
