I'm not sure I fully understand your question but I'll try to answer. The x-axis represents exposure, as plotted from the step tablet density values used in the test. The y-axis represents measured density of the tested film.
If you're talking about the various calculated markers on the x-axis (Emin, Emax, and the speed point) then that gets more complicated. Emin/EMax is pretty simple - it is based on the PaperES, relative to the speed point for the curve. The speed point is quite a bit more complicated. It is based on first finding the speed point of a curve with an average G of roughly 0.62 and then using that point on the x-axis to calculate the relative speed point for each of the other curves.
