Paul --

Use whatever exposure time is needed to cause the film family to indicate an "ISO" point of 2.4 (as closely as possible). when you've established that exposure time, using a film/dev combination that's honestly rated (Delta 100 in ID-11+1 or Xtol+1; FP4 Plus in DD-X+6, for example), use that exposure time as your "personal reference" time for all films, varying the exposure to match the mfgr's ISO rating by using the aperture. If this isn't clear let me know and I'll explain more fully.
