I had previously done testing with a zbe vc-cls head and my normal time for TMax100 and RS 1:9 was 8 min. I have used this time for years and repeat my tests every 6 months or so and things have been consistent. Because of the recent change in TMax100, I decided to test again. Unfortunately, my zbe head died, so I did my testing with the new 100TMax film with my prior zone VI cold light head. Still getting an EV of 4, and no other changes in testing technique or development technique. I usually use a jobo, but did test with both the jobo and tubes, and results are similar,as you know. The problem is my new N time was 5.5 min, not 8 min with the new 100Tmax film. This was somewhat disconcerting; Thinking it may be the new film, I did a similar set of tests with some of the old TMax and again the time is 5.5 min. Now the only difference was I used a cold light for the test instead of my vccls head. Prior testing of old TMax100 with vccls head revealed a N time of 8 min and new testing of bith the old TMax100 and new 100TMax with cold light head gave an N time of 8 minutes. Not beig able to understand what was going on, I shot some photos with the new 100Tmax and developed them at 5.5 and 8 minutes. Much to my surprise, the 5.5 neg was right on and the 8 min neg was too dense. Help!!! Something has changed. For some reason, it seems that my development time both in the BTZS tests and in real world negatives show that my prior normal time of 8 minutes is now 5.5 minutes. I am using the same developer and dilution, and confirmed the tests in both a jobo and tubes and real world negs. Any ideas what might have happened. Thanks.
