1 - I suggest doing the film test without flare because that gives you the characteristics of the materials without the "contamination" of camera and lens effects. When those "pure" data are entered into the Expo/Dev it provides for flare compensation. 2 - CI is preferable to "0.1 over B+F" because it adjusts the speed point to relate to gradient. This minimized speed loss and tends to keep image gradation fairly constant as development is varied. 3 - You should use your own ES value if you've discovered one. 4 - You should also use your own step tablet densities in doing the film tests. A major point in the BTZS methodology is personalizing the test procedures. |
