Anybody --
Recently I've had several suggestions that a simplified version of BTZS would be useful, especially for folks who have been discouraged by the technical emphasis in the present book. I've resisted this notion for years but I'm beginning to reconsider it to see if I can figure out a way to present the essential material in a relatively painless way. And that's a problem because I've obviously thought that everything in the present book is essential. So I'd welcome some input from anyone who has a thoughtful opinion, specifically ---
1 - We all know what the Zone System is: so what do you think BTZS is? Is it a metering method, a testing procedure, a philosophy, a state of grace, or what??
2 - Assuming a response to 1, what do you think is the core of BTZS? What parts of it can be stripped away without destroying it for practical use? Is the software (Plotter, Expo/Dev) part of this essential core?
3 - If you're a BTZS convert, whether as a result of taking a workshop or simply studying the book, when did it finally make sense to you? Was it a sudden flash of insight and, if so, what triggered it?
Any other comments or suggestions will also help me make up my mind whether to proceed with this. Thanks! |
