Phil,

Thank you for your prompt and insightful response, it is indeed a great change to find someone who personally backs up their endeavours with the public.

I am fascinated by your referral of DD-X. When it was first released I used it @ 1+6 with a load of Delta 100 I shot on a project in Britain. It was a delight for the 4x5 I used although I eventually opted for Delta 100 in Perceptol 1+3 in a tray.

For 8x10 I am using a Jobo Expert drum system and am limited to 1 litre of working solution per batch. At the dilutions I favour I cannot get enough stock concentrate into the drum to process any more than 3.2 sheets of 8x10 according to my calculations based on Ilford's stated capacity for the developer. Can you shed any light from your vast experience on this, please? I dare say similar problems with small chemical volume present themselves with the 'tubes' system also and so you might have a work-around for this.

Walter Glover

PS: When I post on the forum I am given a 9 digit number as a password to facilitate subsequent modification of my message. Can I change that difficult to remember numeric sequence to something more familiar - or to an alphebetical system?
