Phil I just got done reading your article on the new Trix formulated film in D-Max. I was quit surprised to here about this change so late in the game. Being a detected user of the film made me concern about its difference. I took the new TXP film on a shoot last week and exposed 10 rolls of 120 mm using my data from the old Tri-X. I calculated my exposures and average gradient using the ExpoDev program. I have processed most of the film and have not noticed much of a difference with exposures at all. The new TXP seams to be right on to that of the Tri-x. I was shooting in a number of subject brightness ranges. Some were near 10 SBR as well as some of 5.5 SBR. All performed nicely responding well to the average gradient development times using D-76 1:1 and 1:3 The thing I did notice was when I dumped my developer, it had a pinkish cast to it. I suspect they are using some kind of dye in the film. I also notice a longer time in the fixer was necessary to get rid of the blue case in the film base. I actually had to re-fix some of the images after I had washed and dried initially.
