Hi, After the longgggg Phoenix (Cave Creek) summer this year, I'm again starting to learn BTZS. My project will be portraits of my in-law and world famous cowboy and buffalo performer T.C. Thorstenson and his cowboy and cowgirl friends.
I will use the incident metering method and mostly natural light. There will most likely be shadows on the faces from cowboy hats and sidelight lighting as well. Shall I meter the face highlight and shadow with the incident dome facing the lens for the head shots or meter the overall scene highlights and shadows. These will probably be natural scenes such as barns, fences and outdoors desert locations as I'll go to the subjects.
Regardless, I will do five or six photos of my immediate family and develop them in the BTZS tubes before I approach my actual subjects for a session. I'll enter the high and low EV readings into the Palm ExpoDev, which has been loaded with the View Camera Store film test data. I just want to get my tests off to a good start.
Also, I probably will get only one chance with my subjects.
Steve, I now have high speed internet and could Skype with you and of course anyone else worldwide.
Thanks, Steve Sample |
