Thank you Phil,
I have not made the shift just yet but an wanting to get a grasp on the lay of the land before I do. My understanding is that highlights present an even greater problem with digital capture than they do with transparency film - and then there is the associated 'noise' that manifests itself if one endeavours to get more separation out of the shadows.
It is a move I am somewhat distressed to make given that there is a strong element of throwing the baby out with the bathwater in going from shooting on 4 x 5 or 6 x 12. But .... one must yield to market firces if one desires the income to facilitate personal work as well.
