It sounds as though you're trying to combine traditional zone system methods with expo/dev. The systems are related but the elements are not interchangeable which may be why expo/dev apparently misinterpreted your readings of the DeWolfe zone board.
I assume you're using the Tri-X/DDX film file in expo/dev; are you developing the exposed films in the BTZS film tubes? Do you have the Plotter software? Have you read the BTZS book?
