Hi Pavel
For fixing and washing my 4x5 negs, I use a film tank and film hangers. After rolling the tubes in the stop bath, place negatives in the film hangers and then put film hangers in the film tank. You will need to make sure your fixer dilution is high enough in the tank for the fixer to reach the film on the hangers. Lastly, make sure you lift hangers up and down into the fixer dilution throughout the fixing time..Usually five minutes is enough time for fixing.
This is a great method because the negatives will not touch each other during fixing.
Also, you can do the same thing when washing the negatives. Just take the film hangers out of the fixer tank and put the hangers in another tank for the wash. Remember to lift hangers up and down throughout wash..Change the water in the wash every minute..Five minutes is enought time for the wash.
Lastly, I use two drops of Edwal Wetting Agent with 500 ml of distilled water (pick up at local supermarket or drug store).
You can find used Kodak 4x5 film tanks and hangars on Ebay for a steal! Also, you should get two film tanks and six hangers. You will probably be processing six negs once you are used to the tubes.
If you have any questions, let me know and welcome to BTZS.
