Hello Everyone,
I'm a new user of the BTZS tubes to develop my 4x5 black/white films This a really a super idea, when back home in Czech, I learned to develop this size film in the using open tray syle. I got my BTZS tubes system from a photographer here in San Francisco who going out of the business. I got the instructions downloaded from the store site. I made several practicing trials with blank film and lights being on, I have developed my first films in the BTZS following instructions, but I now have 2 sheets that are scratched, maybe you guys to help me. Here is what I do, I develope 3 tubes at the same time, then I take off cap and put tubes in the stopping bath, so all 3 tubes in stopping chemistry. Then I careful take out the film from every tube and put into fixing bath, so now I have 3 sheets film in fixing, I keep th lights off this whole time and like I used to do it back home, I freshen each sheet in the fixing by moving sheets of film by changing the order of each one, moving bottom sheet to top of sheets and keep doing this being very careful, then when timer is expired, I turn on the light and wash film sheets and dry in hanging wire. Is this the best way to fix the film, 3 sheets in a tray, is this the reason for my scratches, how do I need to do this to not get scratched the film. Also, BTZS is great becase I can do this in my apartment, but I have no place for enlarger, are they have community darkroom for hiring any place in San Francisco |
