The idea for BTZS.org was hatched at one of Phil's workshops. The site continues to be owned by the View Camera Store as it has always been per Phil's request (the View Camera store handled all BTZS products on his behalf). It was set up and continues to be maintained by me. These days that mostly amounts to keeping spam out of the forums, although truth be told using an obscure and unknown forum system keeps most of the automated spam out.
There is no registered use list as the site has never required someone to register in order to use the forums. Traffic has dwindled over the years but we were never really high on the radar at any point in our history. I have tracking data but I can tell you that there has never been more than a 1-2 thousand page views a month even while Phil was active here.
I know that Phil was happy to have this resource online but I also know that he had hopes that eventually the community would come to rely on it's members to help answer each other's questions. These days there's not to many new questions posted here but I am happy to see that most get anwsered by someone here.
As for the future I am dedicated to keeping the resource online as is I believe Fred Newman at VCS. I think we both see this as an incredible knowledgebase that preserves Phil's legacy.
