Testing of new Lodima paper |

Ben Wilbur and I have been very curious as to any objective data that we could provide in order to confirm the fact that the new Azo type paper called "Lodima", when developed in Amidol developer, was at all "unusual" or had some qualities that set the combination apart from other contact type papers. Testing, following the methods outlined by Mr. Davis in his text and using the Amidol formula of Michael Smith, revealed that the paper had an ES of 1.13 and a similar curve found with Ilford MG FB in a contact printing protocol ( although the Lodima had less of an average G ). Ben and I had read many articles advising negatives to be used with Azo and Amidol to be developed to match a paper ES of 1.4. While such an ES might have conceivably been useful with some of the older Canadian paper which was quite "soft", developing to such an ES now would seem to be incorrect. I wonder if anyone else has tested Lodima paper in Amidol, and if they might share their results with Ben and I. Thanks in advance.
