Kodak provided a sort of protractor device for determining the CI of film curves mechanically. I found, empirically, that similar values can be found by relating speed point density to curve gradient, and that's how the Plotter works. I've now forgotten the factor used but the general procedure ("fractional gradient") is explained in my book. |
