Yes the Matcher function in Plotter matches the IDmin point and shows you where the other points fall.

The goal here is the have a film's exposure and development adjusted to match the ES of a particular paper so that all tonal values are represented without clipping either end. When this happens all tonal value in the negative will fall within the range of the paper's ES scale, properly placing the shadows at IDmin and the highlights at IDmax of the paper.

It's a different way of thinking about exposing film and paper, the goal being to properly expose and develop the negative to match the paper which it will be printed on, preserving all the tonal information. If they don't match (i.e. the negative was not exposure & processed to match), highlight gets clipped or placed too far down on the paper's curve when printing to preserve the shadows.

To me this is the goal of BTZS; to properly retain the shadow values in the negative and to match highlights in such a way as to not clip them. The trick is finding a combination that works for you.
