It seems to me that the negatives I make with my wide angle (90mm) lens are denser than the negatives I make with my 150mm lens. They look over-exposed to the naked eye. I can usually make them print ok, but I wonder if they would be better if the shadow densities weren't so high on the curve. I am wondering if they are that way because the lens is closer to the film plane. If one makes an adjustment for bellows extension, why not for bellows contraction?
I checked to see if ExpoDev makes any adjustment in exposure when you change the focal length, but it doesn't. And I've never seen any instructions anywhere to change your exposure if you use a short lens. But it makes sense that you might have to, doesn't it? |
