I have been using ExpoDev on my iPhone for about six months now and I am very pleased with the results I have been getting. However, I was taking a close-up exposure using a 210mm focal length lens, the lens panel to subject distance was 1.0m, I entered this distance into the in the ‘Factors/Distance’ tab and a Bellows Factor of 1.60 was applied (which is correct). I then moved to the ‘DOF/Check’ tab and set the aperture to f22 and the distance to 1.0m. The results panel indicated a ‘Near plane’ of 0.77m and a ‘Far plane’ of 0.83m, I am confused by this result as I thought that the near and far plane results should be either side of the 1.0m input. Entering other distances shows that at 3.0m the near and far planes are 2.47m and 3.29m respectively, a result I would have expected to get. Furthermore it appears that the near and far distances work OK above 2.0m but not below. Should I be entering the lens panel to subject distance or have I made a mistake here, I cannot see a definition of DOF ‘Distance’ in the ExpoDev manual.
Many thanks
