Dean if I follow your post are you asking about the following?
developer run #1
FP+, JandC and TMY @ 4 mins -- 3 pieces of film in a Jobo??
then developer run #2 5:20 [or whatever your time chosen] 3 pieces of film in a Jobo?
and so on, until the last set of 3 film at 16 minutes?
If that is the case I would assume that if you have sufficient developer for each sheet you should get good results.
Phil will of course have the correct approach to this but I do agree that 5 runs, if successful certainly reduces the time watching a tank spin around.
