Walter --
I haven't used Acros for any pictorial work so I can't comment on its image quality. I have tested it rather extensively, though, to provide the data files for installation into the Expo/Dev program. I'll attach the files I have for both Acros and HP5 Plus to a separate email message so that you can compare them. Perhaps your familiarity with HP5 will help to give you some insights about Acros.
In general, my impression is that it's a premium film but perhaps not enough nicer than others to justify the considerable difference in price. It's a moderately contrasty film that seems to work best at fairly high developer dilutions. Its reciprocity characteristics are unusually good for any film, but especially good for one in this speed range. I think the curves will tell you just about everything else you want to know about the film, technically. |
