i have been using a stoufer graphic arts tp 4X5 21 step tablet and a mantis densitometer. Today I re-read the step in order to import it into plotter. i noticed that the steps started at .05 for the #1 step and ended with 3.0 for the #21 step. the problem is that in increments of .15 I should have arrived at 3.05. Everthing was quite accurate until about #19 which read 2.73(.02 short)and then #20 which read 2.85(.05 short) and then #21 which read 3.00(.05 short). is this an issue? My thought is that since the test films will be contact printed against the same step and read to the plotter the error will be more or less canceled out. Do I need a new step or (heaven forebid ) a new densitometer or am I getting lab paranoia and really need to just go out an just shoot more ? Also, is there a way to see the data files and curves from the BTZS library files in Plotter?
