I'm afraid I can't help you very much because I'm pretty sure you know more about scanned images than I do. I have thought about this problem off and on for some time and have yet to see any useful way to correlate silver image densities with the percentages that Photoshop (for example) deals with. Photoshop's "curves" don't seem to bear any direct relationship to silver negative curves although they do provide somewhat similar information. I just don't know of any way to involve the Plotter, usefully, in digital imagery.
Perhaps someone else here in the forum can help you with this.
I don't think the Mac PlotterPlus is significantly different from your old version but i may have made minor changes in it since 10 years ago. I'll send you an upgrade. What's your email address?
