Recently on the alternative process mail list some one asked what is the correct way to measure a negative with a densitomer to determine what the correct density range of a negative. I assume one would inspect the negative and choose an important highlight and shadow area that one expects to print with detail, then measure those and subtract the two values to find the printable density range.
Does this sound correct?
Thanks,
Don Bryant
