Hi Bill
I like the Forte Polygrade V. With my enlarger using a color head my ES was .86 but when I used Ilford VC filters with the #2 filter my ES was .97. Yes the longer toe makes it a bit easier to print the high values. It also tones well but you have to be careful not to over tone the paper. Try about 1+30 with selenium.
