Well, I would recommend a few thoughts:
Get the cheapest one that you like. You are going to end up dropping it, etc. and not treating it too well. Spending extra cash on a color version, or other add ons is not worth it if you plan to use it for Expodev exclusively.
Make sure the ergonomics works for you. This is, of course, the most important thing.
Make sure it takes regular AAA batteries, and is not some kind of rechargeable battery setup. You'll go through batteries relatively fast, so this is important.
Get a padded case for it to lengthen it's life expectancy.
Get some of the adhesive screen covers. These will help avoid getting scratches on the screen, which makes the display and input areas a little less functional.
And finally, don't count on the batteries. If you leave it turned off for a while, and the batteries are near end of life, you may lose the info stored within. Backup the info ontoa computer regularly to avoid loss of info. I always write the G bar and dev time on the film box when I unload film while on a trip, so that if I lose the memory, I will be able to develop all the sheets properly.
With all that in mind, go to the store and find one that works for you. I have the cheapest Handspring, and it is more than enough for the work I do with it. I think Handspring makes a better device than Palm, but that's only my opinion.
Some of the others don't use the Palm OS, so you must be careful to ensure compatability.
